Bin Laden warns of Iraq retaliation
2.24PM, Wed Nov 3 2004

This is what our illustrious leader has beget us. Those who voted for Bush thinking that he could protect us are going to see the wrath of the Al Quida who have recruited more people to get to us with deadly attacks.. All this because of the war he declared on Iraq. The folly of his being our big Saviour from Terror is a myth that only time will show to be just that. He opened up a hornet's nest and not that Kerry could have quelled it but OBL holds Bush responsible as is indicated here.

Al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden has threatened the US with retaliation for the deaths of Iraqis.

An 18-minute video featuring an address by bin Laden, excerpts of which were broadcast on Arab television last Friday, has now been posted on Islamist websites.

It contains comments on Iraq which were not shown on the television broadcasts.

In the full-length video, bin Laden warned that terrorists will retaliate against what he describes as "an unjustified war on Iraq."

And he declared that George W Bush's hands were "sullied with blood".

"The black gold (oil) blinded him and he put his personal interests above the general interests of America so the war took place," he said.

"Many died, American money was squandered and Bush was dragged into a quagmire in Iraq which threatens his future.

"More than 15,000 of our people were killed and tens of thousands wounded and more than 1,000 of your people were killed and tens of thousands wounded.

"Bush's hands are sullied with the blood of those on both sides just for oil and to employ his private companies.

"Remember that for every action, there is a reaction,"

Bin Laden said al-Qaeda would carry on fighting the US "until it forces it into bankruptcy".

US officials who studied excerpts of the tape after last week's broadcast said they believed it was authentic.

The have said they think bin Laden, who appeared healthy and defiant in the video, is hiding in the border area between Afghanistan and Pakistan.
