Brooks Automation Q4 Seen Roughly In-Line
11.03.04, 9:37 AM ET

Credit Suisse First Boston said Brooks Automation (nasdaq: BRKS - news - people ) "was one of the few subsystem suppliers not to lower" guidance. CSFB expects Brooks to report fiscal fourth-quarter earnings of 30 cents, on a pro forma basis, on revenue of $155 million. Brooks, which will report on Thursday, could see a roughly in-line quarter based on original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) reporting "flattish" shipment for the calendar third quarter. CSFB said its fiscal first-quarter estimates for earnings of 30 cents per share on revenue of $155 million "look high" given OEM guidance for shipments and orders to decline double digits sequentially in the calendar fourth quarter. "We had been modeling mid-single-digit declines in OEM revenues--to be offset by modest sequential growth in factory hardware and software," CSFB said.
