The ownership society pushed by zero down 1% ARMS to get everyone in helped a lot though it is ironic that it is the blue states along the coasts and Chicago where prices appreciated the most . Perhaps it was as much all the jobs created by the construction boom especially in the sunbelt. That perhaps put Bush over the top in Florida, Nevada and Arizona.

<If Bush wins he will owe a lot to Greenspan. The housing bubble he created and fostered has made a lot of people feel quite well to do despite the economy's problems.>
