Long bond rallying. 30-year: +27/32...6.582% The Sep bond is strong going into the close, having just broken through 113-16 resistance. There is talk of month-end buying as the Lehman bond index will be adjusted upward by about 0.20 years, forcing index funds to extend duration in order to match the index. There is also continuing talk of buying by foreign accounts.
