Bull , I'm with you on the off shore support. My own limited experience is with HP. I have a 3 year old HP with only 128 meg of memory. I tried to upgrade it twice last year by going back to Fry's where I purchased it. Neither memory upgrade would work. I was in there last week buying a 17" flatscreen and mentioned to the salesman that I would be willing to bring the box in if he thought his guys could upgrade it. He suggested that I call Hp directly. After paging through the documentation I found a Help Center number. Called it but it was changed to an 800 number which I dialed. Got a gentleman who I was pretty sure was Indian, Told him I had a machine out of warranty and his was the only number I had and I wanted to purchase some memory for my HP desktop.. No problem the fellow says and asured me if I would sign up for one of the service offerings he was offering he was positive that his technical person could fix my memory problem over the phone. I asked him how they ship Simms over the phone and he said the technical person could handle it, at which point I bid him goodby.

Sent a short note to Carly Fiorini outling what I thought was incompetence from her support group. Haven't heard back. May give Dell sa try next time and deal with their off shore experiment.
