Actually, it is very demeaning to those who happen to belong to political parties, equating them with Jim Jones cultists.

I don't claim that all people who belong to parties are cultists -- clearly I don't count myself among the Kool-Aid drinkers.

But those that follow the party line without questioning it are in fact practising a form of cultism, in the strictest sense of the word. I'm glad you picked up on that.

Neither patriotism nor party support require that a person check their brain at the door.
