Hi whitepine,
I don't disagree with your points on the nature of advertising and the choices being made by the media to pepper the nation with "boner ads". I completely agree with you that most people don't want their children being constantly bombarded with these. I don't want it either.

I don't see how electing GWB vs Kerry will change this? Maybe you are right and the media will get a clue to what middle America would prefer to see. I doubt it, since they are catering to their sponsors, NOT to the public.

I also don't see how legislation needs to be created to fix this situation?

I don't see how the above discussion should be directly linked to "gay marriage" or hip-hop(read music). Maybe the majority of white people out in middle America don't want to be bothered with artists from another race(ie hip-hop) and can't understand why someone might consider it music or art as opposed to calling it pornography?

There are some pretty big leaps that are happening trying to link all evils to Hollywood or the media. Maybe because I live in a major city it's different for this observer but I find it hard to nicely package these separate issues into one big "evil" ball, soon to be tossed in the garbage (neatly out of sight) by some miraculous upcoming legislation!
