wp:Perhaps it won't, but GW is not associated with the assault on traditional family/cultural values in the minds of many. Thus, GW is a natural choice for many.

wp: Agree. Never suggested it would, but I can understanding why people want to use zoning laws to regulate their personal cultural environment.

wp: Generally, it is the extreme manifestations that alienate most of middle America. I don't think it is racial. I think gangster rap, MM or others, symbolizes a collection of cultural values that rural folks do not share.
Linking of issues: precisely the point I am trying to make. The world of hunting, football, local sports, local church and voluntary associations, etc., have nothing to do 'modern urban culture' (for lack of a better collective concept). I am not proposing to change any of this. I suggest no legislation, but I would support the right of local communities to define their own individual indentities and cultural values. If racial or ethnic minorites take acts to preserve 'their' culture, the left coast offers support. If the rural communities seek the same goal, they are usually criticized for being narrow-minded.
I am merely trying to explain the great cultural divide that separates many folks in the center of the country from the urban coasts. The cultural divide continues to have political implications. Kb's post was, IMO, accurate.
