I disagree. The voters wanted specifics more in this election than in any other I have witnessed. This is why Edwards came from an unknown to almost grab the Dem nomination. In my opinion, Edwards would have won easily, with his moderate message and his positive style.

I agree that, as in most nations, there are a large group of sheep that will go with the extreme views. However, the moderates have the power to control. They just don't do the hard work to get their message across. Those who don't vote, don't register, have the power, but need to be motivated. Most have gotten to the point that they beleive there is really no difference. They see boobs on tv criticizing each other in moronic fashion. It was Bush v anti-bush and the voters went with the devil they knew.

A positive message still can win the day.

As for the the US dollar and investments, this is an area that finds opinions all over the place. International money has to go somewhere. China is not free enough to grab that much of it. Europe has more problems than the US economically in the long run than the US. Just my opinion and there is much that I would change in the US. But, of course, that's my "moderate" side which doesn't do well on this thread.
