Hello Everyone, Welcome to the November Surprise! :o)

I'm going to classify posts today to give you an indication where I'd like FADG to head. Try to be patient while we settle in.

Last week I mentioned that I found it exceptionally difficult to trace a working boundary betwixt the OFF TOPIC and the ON TOPIC posts during the election campaign. I think it will be more straightforward for everyone if I err now on the minimalist side.

FWIW, here are a few of my thoughts this cold and wet, pre-dawn California morning:

(1) If FADG does not suit your needs, please feel free to start alternate/supplemental threads -- it's an interesting experience <g>

(2) Let's give the Middle East a lot less daily copy for awhile -- other threads provide plenty of discussion on that subject.

(3) Move slower. Emphasize journal articles rather than the daily news. Foreign Affairs magazine is the preferred source on FADG.

(4) This is an educational forum in a very narrow sense, act collegially (i.e. marked by camaraderie among colleagues).

Let the classification begin:
