Having a contingency plan is always a good idea. Did you take a look at this map? usatoday.com Outside of New England, even states that voted blue had a majority of counties that voted red. CA, OR and WA in particular are real eye openers. Other than the major urban counties, the GOP carried the vote... I can sympathize with your feelings of being disenfranchised, but dreams of secession are realistically a pie in the sky fantasy. Strengthening States Rights, as formulated in our constitution, should be a goal of the Dems instead of being fought, as is their current position. Although I held my nose and voted for Bush, I'll be the first to join street protests if any attempt to re-instate the draft is initiated. I'll also vigorously oppose any attempt to overturn Roe v Wade and will continue to strongly object to the civil liberties infringements that are contained in the current version of the Patriot Act.
