Great map. I am sure that the Democrats are dissecting that map, scratching their heads, wondering, "What the hell are we missing?"

Putting Edwards on the ticket may have been Kerry's biggest mistake. Edwards couldn't even bring in his home state. Kerry should have followed my advice and selected Gephardt. Gephardt would have brought some national security credentials to the table and would have done more to energize the black vote for Kerry.

Gephardt could have would have made the difference in Missouri. Assume for a moment that Iowa ends up in the Kerry column and that Bush ends up with 279 electoral votes. If Gephardt had been on the ticket and helped win Missouri, Bush would have ended up with only 268 electoral votes. God bless stupidity.

Kerry personal characteristics - the hesitation and the equivocation - remind me of Carter. Not surprisingly, his most significant Senate "accomplishments" revolve around investigations: BCCI and Iran-Contra, tasks that involved a lot of digging. He is not a big picture guy.

Too bad those friends of his were not around to give him advice when he decided to marry Theresa. I don't want to even begin to imagine what it would be like to spend any significant time around her.
