The buzz is that AFFX has done a very handsome deal with Roche. Although $$ werent announced, they will be substantial. More deals coming too.
Its significant that $$ have not been announced for the deal with Pfeizer or Roche. This may simply be modesty on the part of management, not wanting to kite the stock ahead of the fundamentals. But, at some point these payments from roche and pfizer (quarterly, milestone?) will be coming to the bottom line, and analysts will be factoring them into earnings. Earnings for next year (12/98) are predicted by Zach's to be (0.64)/sh, but those will have to be updated, based on these two deals. A PROFITABLE AFFX in '98 is a distinct possibility, and in any case, I believe we will see 40/share by the end of October.
