Obama talks moderate but votes way to the left.

He is very convincing as a "moderate" national candidate. Hard to believe he has come so far, when you realize he lost the primary for a black Chicago congressional district two years ago. He is the first "non-civil rights" black Pol out of the Dem party to make it.

The reason he lost is because he is not a "black" candidate. He was raised here in the islands, and is a Harvard Law grad. The political "blacks" don't consider him to be one of them. No "Minister" to him. Much more in the Powell or Rice mold.

He is smart enough to realize that he needs to come across as an "Eagle" in the Senate if he wants to go for the Prez. If he goes to the right from now on, he can still get the Prez nomination by, say, 2012, and then win by attracting moderate center voters.
