I have an agenda, I am short with PUTS. Read this piece taken from statinalert.org.
Cholesterol-lowering drug manufacturers go to exhaustive lengths in order to cultivate favorable relationships with doctors, and their efforts have been extremely successful. The sad reality is that many medical practitioners and health authorities, having been exposed to copious amounts of one-sided pro-statin propaganda, now possess an unrealistic view of their safety profile.

If doctors are incapable of obtaining a more realistic awareness of both the positive and negative aspects of statin drugs, then their patients will need to do it themselves.

This is the reason I created StatinAlert.org--to let people know that statins are not benign pills, but potentially dangerous and toxic drugs that should be prescribed only with the utmost caution. In my opinion, modern medicine's attitude towards statin drugs at present can only be described as foolish, reckless infatuation.

I must emphasize that this site is purely a public awareness effort; it is not intended to give medical advice. I do not pretend to be a medical practitioner--although the site does feature commentary from many highly-qualifed doctors and researchers--and I acknowledge that in certain circumstances--such as in male patients with established heart disease--statin drugs may indeed be of clinical benefit.

I also wish to make it perfectly clear that this is an independent web site run and funded by myself. StatinAlert.org is NOT affiliated with any other web sites that sell cholesterol-lowering nutritional supplements. Cholesterol is undoubtedly one of the most important substances within our bodies; therefore, StatinAlert.org does NOT endorse ANY cholesterol-lowering strategy--be it 'natural' or otherwise.
