hi carl: i would appreciate your comments in regards to the following assumptions. INTC stock doubles in 1998 SUNW drops 30% SVGI drops 30% all based upon the following assumptions INTC offers 400mhz PII w 100mhz bus starting april 98 INTC is working on 800 mhz chips with increasing bus speeds 200,400,800,1600--based on RMBS data, 1600 bus speeds around the year 2000? i have heard/read that MOT has/is working on a 800 mhz chip, for telecom purposes, i am assuming this is possible due to a lower work requirement, fast speed, very short period of time. my understanding is that INTC chip speed is blocked by heat disapation problems. to achieve >500mhz ,you need to look at .18 micron,where you also need to look at galium arsenide instead of silcon unless improvements can be made in surface preparation, cleaning etc. i see a big picture trend forming. where INTC takes a larger portion of the traditional main frame business; a win/win situation. i have no tech knowledge or experience thanks for your thoughts peter
