Some traditions die hard. If France and Germany want to side with Saddam it is their choice, and not the fault of President Bush. I think abanodoning the U.S. is a bad career move. You think if France throws a fit and stabs us in the back that we should change our course. I don't change course when my 3 year old throws a tantrum, and GWB does not do it when France does.

Note that Russia was against the war (another big customer of Saddam), but has stated emphatically that they are glad George won. Even many of the haters will be when they see the results instead of declaring defeat when it is barely started.
