Has there been any discussion of the Ballot Propositions to ban gay marriage?

The reason I ask is that much of it is dismissed in the MSM as red state homophobia, but no one explains Oregon and Michigan. These are blue states and they passed the measure by significant margins.

Oregon was 57% to 43% and Michigan was 59% to 41%.

There are apparently culture wars going on within Democratic ranks :-)
