Ruff, you said: "The vast majority of Israelis do not believe in "greater Israel" and the concepts which are hidden in the term."

And I'm sure you mean that in good faith but you don't need too many to believe in a bad thing. The extra protection being applied to Sharon is NOT because of fear of renewed fear of assasination by Palestinians. As the Jerusalem Post reports because of a renewed fear of a repeat of what happened to a previous Israeli PM.
It's not about vast majorities of peoples. Less than 30% took active part in the US revolution. The vast majority of Palestinians understand that Israel is not going away even if they aren't happy about it. Switch it around. The vast majority of Israelis understand that the Palestinians are not going away even if they are not happy about it. Some extremists on both sides have other ideas. Hell, there are even some numb nuts on SI that have posted articles talking about exporting, driving out, or why don't other countries take them solutions.
Not majorities but enough.
It's not code words it's behind the feeling of the right and they express it. If the Jerusalem Post can express concern and discus it, calling it "code words" to stop discussion outside of Israel is not productive. It's not an attack mode.
