The immigration quotas for most European countries are high and rarely filled You must indeed be American to believe that immigration is a function of unfilled quotas only. I know what I talk about. Getting an E2 non-immigrant visa is fairly easy if you are able to invest an aggregated 300-400k$ or so. Then with additional investments, a hopefully prosperous US business and a good - albeit expensive - immigration lawyer you stand a fair chance to a green card within 7-10 years or so provided that your qualifications are right and your family ties show no traces back to terrorist countries. Common people need close relatives in the US to have any chances at all. Or they must find a US citizen to marry. The Europeans have a great standard of living.....why would they prefer here Because not all Europeans are socialists and some have dreams of starting their own business and getting rich! Tasks which are definitely a lot easier in the US than in Europe. Taro
