Canadian Immigration Site Takes a Hit

OTTAWA (Reuters) - The number of U.S. citizens visiting Canada’s main immigration Web site has shot up six-fold as Americans flirt with the idea of abandoning their homeland after President Bush’s election win this week.

“When we looked at the first day after the election, Nov. 3, our Web site hit a new high, almost double the previous record high,” immigration ministry spokeswoman Maria Iadinardi said on Friday.

On an average day some 20,000 people in the United States log onto the Web site, www.cic.gc.ca – a figure which rocketed to 115,016 on Wednesday. The number of U.S. visits settled down to 65,803 on Thursday, still well above the norm.

Bush’s victory sparked speculation that disconsolate Democrats and others might decide to start a new life in Canada, a land that tilts more to the left than the United States."

Now we all know that these people are Liberals and let’s face it. Liberals only talk a big game but they rarely ever do anything. I wish they would do something though. Move on up to Canada and let those in Canada continue to immigrate to the United States.

I cannot help but laugh at some of these people. Robert Redford already made plans to go to Ireland, but those are only plans. He might need an extra nod to finally get his sorry ass moving. Redford should know that his Sundance Channel is an absolute joke and there are very few movies produced by Sundance that are worth a crap, but Irish people might like them. Hopefully that’s the nudge.

There are people all around this world that would love to immigrate into the United States. I’ll take a personal story with Canadians who wish to enter and immigrate to the United States. Every single Canadian (over 40 and I live in Texas so 40 is a lot) I’ve ever met and talked to more than ten minutes has expressed a desire to become a U.S. citizen. They are proud of their Canadian heritage, but they want to be called an American.

Now being called an American is important to those Canadians I have known and it’s important to many other people, myself included. If these people are so disgraced by the reelection of President Bush because “Jesusland” trumped them, then get the F’ out!

Plain and simple, these people do not understand Democracy and the importance of a two-party system. They worry only about themselves and anyone who does not agree with them is wrong. Canada has even had to make a statement saying any immigrants would have to go through the same tests that all do. These people are disgracing the United States, but hopefully they do move and the disgrace will be gone. Good riddance.
