They're studying a drug that may cure certain types of cancers. Occasionally they've issued press releases stating that the drug was no better than the placebo in a particular cancer they were looking into. They then discontinue the trials for that treatment. It happens frequently with drugs in trials. Most drugs don't make it even to the FDA application stage. Most fail in early trials. The companies typically announce why they failed (ie. safety, or "no better than the placebo") so that shareholders know why they've stopped working on the drug. Dave
