The States of Illinois and Wisconsin have defied the federal government, and opened a program for their own residents to buy cheaper prescription drugs from Canada, Ireland, and the United Kingdom.

They sent their own State inspectors to these countries and inspected and approved only certain suppliers --- who will be re-inspected for compliance to the program guidelines regularly.

Currently, 45 different foreign suppliers are approved.

Other EU members may be added to the program in the future.

The program Web site is www.i-saverx.net

(I believe that the relative ease with which these two States were able to certify certain suppliers gives the lie to the Fed's claim that they are holding back for 'safety reasons'... instead of the obvious fact that they are simply protecting the oligopolic profits of American manufacturers... instead of promoting free trade.)
