Why do people who live in large cities vote overwhemingly democratic, while people who don't, vote heavily republican? I don't know. Anyone care to speculate about the reasons? That map doesn't show that city peope "vote overwhelmingly democratic." Rather, it shows that an overwhelming majority of cities vote majority democratic. Big difference. As for the reason, I don't think it's anything more complicated than that city people are cosmopolitan.
