<<...US distributor owed them a couple of 100 millions..>> That's no surprise although smells like bad business to allow so much bad debt. I have heard small contractors who hate to do any work for big corporations (such as WalMart or Seven Elevens) because of the hassle and the (wasted time and phone calls) diligent persistence to collect on payments for work completed. The guy who did my driveway told me the same thing, and he prefers small individual contracts such as home repairs and expansions where the payments are more reliable and much less hassle collecting (except for lawyers who tend to be more picky and find fault with everything and try to get away without paying). I came across someone who has a gardening & lawnmowing business and he stays away from lawyers. If there is a new customer, the first thing he ask is the client's household occupations. If there is a lawyer in the house, then he refuse the job.
