Hi all, speaking of religion, I want to talk with you all about Islam a little. Prior to 9/11, I always believed that the 3 great monotheistic religions were Christianity, Judaism, and Islam. After 9/11, I started reading about Islam and the more I read, the more I am convinced it is not a religion of peace. In fact, I am convinced that it is as dangerous as the philosophy that Hitler espoused in his Mein Kampf.
So the questions I have for all of you include the following:
* do most of you feel that Islamic radicalism is fringe? or radicalism taught to them out of the Quran?
“Fighting is prescribed for you, and you dislike it. But it is possible that you dislike a thing which is good for you, and that you love a thing which is bad for you. But Allah knows, and you know not”2 :216 "
* do you think Islam is a peaceful relgion?
5:54 "O ye who believe. Take not the Jews and the Christians for your friends and protectors. They are but friends and protectors to each other. And he amongst you that turns to them (for friendship) is of them. Verily God guideth not a people unjust."

When I think about what's happening in the world, like Van Goh the director in Amsterdam who was murdered by Islamic people for criticizing Islam and Salaman Rushdie who Islamic clerics issued a death fatwa against, I am starting to believe that Islam is a scourge on Western civilization and that it's ideology needs to be crushed just like the Nazi ideology was crushed to the point where it became fringe. Unfortunately, everywhere I look I find people who are bending over backwards to appease Islam and to be politically correct and call it a peaceful religion.
How many more 9/11s, Madrids, Balis, and Amsterdams do we need before Western civilization bands together and openly recognizes that this false religion is a cancer that has metastasized? How much more time to spread their cancer do we give them before a unified response is crafted and enacted worldwide?
Interestingly enough, I voted for Kerry because I believed he'd fight a smarter war on terror than Bush. However, one thing I know about Bush is that he recognizes the true evil that Islam represents and he is fighting it in his own way. I wish he was a little more adept at diplomacy, public relations, and alliance building, but at least he understands that cracking down in the Middle East is part of what is required to fight this cancer.
