Wow! Wow! Don...hold your horses. The street estimate is loss of 0.02/share. $0.23/share is far too high.

Sales of BorderManager will be slow until :

a) the second release becomes available (never buy the first release
products from NOVL....known to be very "buggy". i.e NW 3.0, NW 4.0
etc...
b) it can run on top of UNIX and NT (availability:sometime 1998)

Sales of NetWare plummiting and especially so with users waiting for Windows NT 5.0 with Active Directory.

Sales of Groupwise: Not an issue since it will most likley be spun off (not to shareholders I hope).

Sales of every other product NOVL sells: ZILCH !!

In other words, large companies are nervous about investing in NOVL products due to the uncertainty created by past management, the future outlook for NOVL and big "M" + the press lurking on the horizon telling us NT is better.

What large companies want to see is stability at NOVL and faith in its long term survival. The intro. of Bordermanager and new execs.
did nothing to change that. The faith...that is what is important now.
How does NOVL obtain that faith ? We need a company like IBM, not SUNW or NSCP or HWP or CPQ or SAP or CA or EDS but.... IBM to stand behind NOVL and ready to catch us if we fall.

Our Dr. in my personal opinion cannot do this alone. We want to see a stronger company before we commit to its products. NetWare has had so much negative publicity regarding market share that it is actually affecting decision makers.

NOVL.....You need to show us you are strong for the long term if we are to continue to believe that out entire LAN/WAN is to run on your O/S. We cannot afford to wait to see if a new product like BorderWare will make you big $$$ and give you enough cash to continue enhancing NetWare for years to come. No thanks, we have seen how you handled WP and Quottro Pro.

NOVL's chance to build and maintain customer loyalty is to give itself to IBM. Please do so quickly. Our company for one is pushing forward with replacing NetWare 3.x servers with NT including the five NetWare 4.x servers we have in place today.

NOVL has to move fast...time is running out.
