This is the problem with immigration policies that the Baby Boomer generation introduced when they hit decision making positions within our government as well as European ones. The viewpoint that "cultural diversity" was somehow more important than pragmatic objectives like security has led to this mess. The liberal viewpoint that our culture was too white and needed help has led to people being in our country that may not be on our side.

The man who shot up the Israeli airlines counter at LAX a couple of years ago had been rejected from coming here when he applied by a visa as a high risk person. His wife ended up winning a cultural lottery (whatever that is), and admitted for entry and eventually citizenship. She became a citizen and he was allowed to come across as her husband. A sensible policy would have rejected her from winning any lottery due to a background check on her immediate family. On the other hand, why does the US need a cultural lottery?

The problem for all governments that now have Muslim citizens from prior immigration policies have little they can do but monitor and wait.
