And, what exactly is so "conservative" about Bush and this current crop of Republicans? They're spending our (taxpayer) monies like there's no tomorrow. We have record deficits. Bush hasn't even vetoed one Republican spending bill out of protest that they're spending too much. Bush and his fellow Republicans are spending money in a way that would make "liberals" of past generations blush.

On social issues, the arguement could be made that Bush is conservative. But, I'm having a hard time understanding what conservative is anymore. I thought they stood for less government interference with our lives. It seems like they really stand for creating a theologically based American government that dictates morals to everyone based on Christain beliefs. Morals many find dubious, as they preach against abortion, and then callously slaighter innocents in foreign lands in the name of "profits"? What kind of morals are those, and they want to impose these militaristic and highly hypocritical morals on the rest of us. Sorry, I don't buy it. I know when I'm being conned. When I see projects in my country go unbuilt for decades as the war machine is fed a steady diet, I know there's something morally wrong going on.
