I think you are just too biased against those folks who have expressed a wish to come up here. Frankly, I don't believe the news until I actually see them here.

To be sure, those Americans that wish to come up here will be shown no special favouritism: they will have to wait their turn just like all other intending immigrants elsewhere.
Although that is the official line, I am pretty sure some immigrant officials are likely to expedite matters for them.
Besides there may be groups here that will welcome them with open arms.

I believe their interest in coming here is largely because of Canada being located next door, a circumstance that allows them to cross back over to visit kith and kin anytime they wish.
