I think it is noteworthy that today's DJIA close (7694.43) is 1/4 point lower than the close on 8-15-97 (7694.66), the day of the 247 point drop. So today is the first close which has penetrated that low. The last time the DJIA closed lower than today was 6-30-97, when the DJIA closed at 7672.79. FWIW. SPX today was 3 points shy of closing at or below the close of 8-15-97. Do you still have your puts? DK
