No, it doesn't say anywhere in the Bible that interracial marriage is prohibited.

When one brings god in the discussion to justify our laws and policy, what I hear is "OK, shut down your reasoning and thinking.

I do agree with this statement and I have used that same argument when discussing the problem with Islamic people. They often shut their brain off with disastrous results. I generally do not do that and have actually studied many different religions in detail looking for the good in each and commonality, where I could find it. It used to be a hobby of mine when I was in college a couple decades and a half ago. However, there are certain fundamental beliefs I have and that is one of them. It doesn't make me mean or anything like that. I am generally a live and let live person. But marriage is Christian and I don't want that institution blemished and the 84% of Americans in this country don't want it either. America spoke very loudly when they voted for Bush.

As long as you have a Christian majority in the U.S., it's not likely you'l find many people that will agree to the destruction of the core Christian values of this country. That's not a judgement, it's just my opinion.
