Then you will have to eliminate the electoral college. Good luck. As I said, that has been tried many times. It takes a Constitutional amendment. And that takes Senate approval. And the very states that will be hurt by its elimination, those with small populations, have as much clout as their more heavily populated neighbors. They vote against it and block it.

You're stuck.

In any case, that is not what happened this election. Bush won by 3.5 million votes.
