Pat Toomey's challenge ,, he would not have beaten the democrat who ran against him. Besides toomey voted against Republican bills more than any other rep. He is as far left as you can get. At the time you didn't know the senate would pick up four positions. Why would you let the seat go? Rick support for Specter ,, may help him in his reelection if Specter supports him.. However, specter is such a strange dude there no way of telling if he will even remember Santorum's first name when he runs. I believe Bush Rove made the right judgement to support Specter , try to get on his coattails and win pa. Bush really didn't do that bad in Pa. Philly and suburbs again was Bush defeat. Could specter done more for Bush,, i think so but he was concerned about his own re election and was get hammered by democrats from his statements while running against toomey.
