That is one point I have to conceed to the Republicans. The Democrats brought the 2000 election debacle upon themselves. If Gore and his staff had really been on top of things, they would have made sure that the ballots in a key state like Florida were designed clearly. The confusing butterfly ballot is really what caused Gore to lose the election, and I guess he shares some of the blame for not making sure his side had the best chance of winning. It's all part of the ground game.
