It is the only inference which may be drawn from your remarks. Why can't you see this? It is intuitive.

If you "cut a deal" with the drug companies, you are using your "power" to force the drug companies to take less money. If you allow reimportation, the drug companies are receiving less for their drugs. Both of these items you mentioned, therefore, reduce drug company profits.

There is no other interpretation. Explain to me how either of these items do NOT reduce drug company profits.
