That's the dirty little secret that lies at the root of the US-EU antagonism: corporate Europe is lagging and can't keep up with the Transpacific trade --which in turn gives the jitters to the US Old Guard aka Bilderberg... A sizable section of corporate America doesn't want to see Europe displaced by China/Asia as the US's main trading partner yet they can't do anything about it...

I think its much more than a problem with trade.

Two things.........this administration has the attitude if you are not for us, then you must be against. You saw that reflected in the Old Europe bit. Increasingly, they see Europe as part of the problem, not the solution.

Secondly, its no secret that Europe thinks Bush is a dud. They hate that you treat him like he's a bush wacker from TX. This man has a very strong ego that was evident during the first debate.
