You make my case for me. You provide a perfect example of the type of attitude and the lack of trying to "understand and work with the 'enemy'" that I am talking about.

There comes a point where negotiations are not fruitful. Bush has made it very clear that he will treat last week's election as evidence of a strong mandate and he will implement his agenda fully.

It doesn't look like there is any room for negotiation in that one. And with Republicans like you defending him and finding fault only with Dems like me....there really is no reason to try to compromise.

Besides, I've seen how the GOP went after Specter. It ain't pretty!

Although to be fair many Democrats are less radical and less paranoid about Bush than you are so I shouldn't tar them all with your statements

I suspect they are being very polite. Most Dems I know are mad as hell!
