Robert Redford is an enigma to me. He at least does not sound like a nutcase every time he opens his mouth, unlike the others in that list.

Redford should go back to the script of "Jeremiah Johnson" which is essentially a true story based on the life of John (Liver Eatin') Johnson. He might get some hints about what is going on here.

"Liver Eatin'" was a peaceable man, wanting nothing more than to be left alone so he could trap beaver. When a Crow war party killed his family he vowed that they would pay, much like President Bush did when Islamics flew planes into our buildings. Johnson killed the murderers of his family and ate their livers. When others attempted revenge he killed them and ate their livers too.

The basic premise at play here is "Don't rile a peaceable man." Bush, a peaceable man, and America, a peaceable nation, has been riled. Redford should understand that and forget his plan to move to Ireland where terrorism is not too deeply forgotten.
