Why are you asking me who the Dixiecrats were?

Mana said - "Name a conservative that is/was a member of the KKK. I am not aware of one. "

You replied

"Oh many of them are retired from the Klan."

Without providing any evidence.

I replied -

"If many of them are than it should be easy to name one right? What conservative politician, or political operative, or political commentator is retired from the klan?"

And then you started to bring up the dixiecrats.

"Dixiecrat" does not equal "current or former KKK member" nor does it equal "member of the Republican party". But if Dixiecrats are so bad and if you associate them with the Republicans I figured you could name a few Republicans who used to be "Dixiecrats"

One of them is Trent Lott.

Trent Lott was not a Dixiecrat.

From your post

"The Dixiecrats were members of the States' Rights Democratic Party, which splintered from the Democratic Party in 1948. "

"Although the Dixiecrats immediately dissolved after the 1948 election..."

From Lott's bio -

"LOTT, Chester Trent, a Representative and a Senator from Mississippi; born in Grenada, Grenada County, Miss., October 9, 1941"

" elected as a Republican to the Ninety-third and to the seven succeeding Congresses (January 3, 1973-January 3, 1989"

"enate Years of Service: 1989- "
