I was told that back in the day, maybe 150 200 years ago they caught catfish that were several hundreds pounds. Of course fisherman wouldn't exaggerate. However, consider the fresh river with no natural enemies after reaching over 50 lbs, it isn't unthinkable for them to just keep going ;)
