Your history books are wrong. Germany had been defeated but the Japanese were relentless in their continued war. They refused to capitulate and it was the estimation of American generals that the war could go on for many more years unless we did something drastic. The bomb was the only way to put an end to a war that had already cost over 20 million lives. The bomb was NOT a response to Pearly Harbor, which happened at the beginning of the war for America in 1941. The bomb happened in 1945, as a way to end the war for good. As far as America sitting on the sidelines, you should read up on D-Day.

Anyway, as far as the Islamic religion goes, I no longer believe it is a legitimate religion. I think it's more accurately classified as a cult, probably the most widest spread one in history. Unfortunately, this cult is a very large threat to the U.S. I think we ran afoul of them when we first decided to support Israel. But if I was placed in power at the time that decision was made, I'd do it again. I'd choose liberty and democracy over fascism any day.

So how do we get out of this? I'm not sure. I think it's too late to pull out of Iraq or Afghanistan. For better or worse, we are committed until those countries are free and pose no further threat.

As far as fixing the Islamic religion, I think they need to do it for themselves and they need to start by not teaching their children to hate. Hate seems to be the only thing that sustains many of the people in the Middle East. It would be sad if it wasn't so scary.
