I actually read much the Quran right after 9/11 to see what I would think. I found that the Quran has a lot of passages that denigrate Jews and Christians (People of the Book) and talks about how during the end times, even rocks and trees will not let a Jew or Christian hide behind it, and will instruct the faithful Muslim to kill them for the glory of Allah. So much for Islam as a peaceful religion.

Another thing I found Islam to be was a very temporal religion. Most monotheistic religions are very focused on spiritual rewards such as basking in the goodness and light of God. Islam talks about the 72 virgins men will get when they arrive in Heaven. So I ask myself what do women get? Do they get an afterlife of servitude to domineering men who only want to use them as sex slaves? So much for a spiritually pure religion or one that embraces gender equality.

The other major thing that irritates me is the utter disregard for women's rights. No other religion denigrates and subjugates women as Islam does. Muslim countries have the worst record of abuse of women's rights in the world.

Another thing that seems unacceptable to me is Sharia law. It is something straight out of the dark ages, yet they claim it's brutality was Allah's law straight from his mouth to Mohammed's.

Another thing I can't stand about Islam is that no one is allowed to criticize it. You do so on pain of death. That is a recipe for a backward, inflexible religion, and that's exactly what they have. A wise man once said that when you stop growing, you begin to die. Islam has begun to die, because it doesn't allow growth. That is why modern man looks at this religion and thinks it's a throwback to the 5th century.

I could go on, but suffice it to say, you can learn alot about Mohammed and Islam from the Quran and the Hadiths. None of it is very pleasant.
