I don't think its a fluff announcement. If samples are coming in 2-3 months, they need to release the interface specs for the parts they will be sampling on a "public" basis. Then customers can design some prototype test projects to evaluate the parts when they are available. Because of publicity like this, other potential customers that AMD doesn't even know about may inquire about the parts. No, I don't expect datasheets stamped "preliminary" on AMD's website yet, but I suspect these are available to any serious customer that requests them. And I do think Spansion is being groomed for an IPO, though at this point I can't figure out what percentage of Spansion will be AMD's, Fujitsu's and publicly held. Petz
