Are you speaking for all Americans? Or just for yourself? Or are you just an armchair theorist? IMHO, and speaking for myself only, there are a good number of Americans who despise their northern neighbours for any number of reasons, real and imagined. Needless to say, these folks are, in turn, regarded with contempt by some Canadians. Hence the anti-Americans. It's just a case of "like" begets "like", a sort of mutual response. This sort of thing happens elsewhere among other people, too. No big deal. According to you, there are few, if any, anti-Canadians in the US? Are you kidding? Just go and ask any French Canadians residing or holidaying in Florida or Arizona. Believe me, they have lots to tell you.
