With all due respect, that is complete nonsense. The public does not determine what the media publishes or broadcasts, the owners of the media make that determination. That is such a simple and basic fact of life I'm stunned that you are unaware of it.

You really need to start inuring yourself to the depredations on your intellect and belief system by getting away from the mindrot of corporate media and start inoculating yourself against its pernicious effects.

I'd strongly recommend that you pay a lot more attention to things like MediaMatter, F.A.I.R., Accuracy.org, and the other watchdog organizations that are trying to call foul on the miscreants and whores in the corporate media world.
