It is revealing that the Iraqi puppet army doesn't appear to be doing any fighting (other than disarming doctors, beating up orderlies, or waving flags at the hospital photo op).

It means that if it wasn't for the fact there are few jobs available and they need food to stay alive, there would hardly be any Iraqis serving in the military and fighting for Allawi and his sponsors (the US).

It is revealing that we can't even get fifteen thousand Iraqis to fight these "terrorists" in a country of twenty or thirty million people. Seems like we have all the weapons and could just encircle any town and send in the Iraqis to fight for what they aim to control. Why not send Iraqis to fight house to house? Let them soften them up or win the day. If they lose, it is not like anyone is going anywhere because the US has the city encircled.

US soldiers aren't mercenaries for hire. Why are they fighting this fight? Oh I forgot .. oil. I guess they are.

We've got little Napoleon of the couch potato era believing he's got a license to kill and pushing an agenda to maintain control of rather than improve the world. The greed of big biz and the power wielded is so out of hand that the country will be greatly stricken at some point. There are only two roads I can see from a long term perspective. Either you make the world in your image and liquidate all opposition and challengers (neocons/theocons/status quo elitists/other rascists). Or you aim for an inclusive world for all. Anything in between will fail. Payback is going to be a bitch someday. I figure China and India will close the technological gap much quicker than anyone anticipates and eventually there will be combinations of countries that will not be kissing US ass anymore. The whole country is gonna feel like the democrats after this election. We seem destined to be hugely indebted, uncompetitive, with "financial services" as our primary contribution to the world economy. Reap what ya sow. I still think the best of times is right now (for this generation, those over 65 for example). Bad times haven't even arrived yet. We are just making the mistakes today that we'll have to pay for tomorrow. And, there are no mulligans.
