Good grief. One gets the feeling that many longs on this board would be encouraged if AMD were to release *negative* PR.

Comeon, that's silly. I wasn't suggesting anything like that. Given the history of preannounce PR's in this industry one must always be suspicious about such "future" (product) preannouncements- specially from AMD.

But one thing that AMD now has going for them is that Hector is running the show. Maybe this is not all fluff!?

It provides the analysts with time to come up with good questions to ask at the event itself.

From listening to AMD CC's for the last 6+years I don't remember a single good and insightful question asked by an analyst at any AMD conference. What would be different now?

Most of the questions are like "...uh.um..sorry I joined the conference late (because I'm an idiot and misplaced the phone number)..and um..uh..if you've already answered this question..but could you explain (for the hundereth time) how the charge back due to Fujitsu's share affects the earnings in the 5th decimal place". These moron's are more like auditors on the CC than analysts. They miss the big picture like NASA missed mars with the first mars lander and ask about trivia and minutia.
