That's part of the problem. Judges do much of their work anonymously, in large part. Newspapers often don't report their names when reporting criminal cases and civil cases involving passionate issues like abortion, etc., either.

I recognize the safety concerns over their identities in connection with certain types of cases. However, it's not an excuse for them to anonymously legislate and re-write social policy in matters that affect all of us.

A balance must be struck and judges, like all public officials, must be accountable to the citizenry.
