Gateway Dropping eMachines Branding For Athlon 64 Laptops

Well it appears that Gateway is completely dropping eMachines branding for their Athlon 64 laptops that were big sellers before they bought out the company, and killed the most powerful desktop in retail. Of course I guess they wanted to help out Dull earnings. Yes, I don't get it. Here is the scoop from an insider we will call Twotone.
Thought you might want this info. It seems that Gateway is killing off the
E-machines laptop line in favor of their own branding. There is an Athlon64
model in the store waiting to be displyed. I think the model is 7406 but it
is hard to tell because the thing is in lockup 15 feet off the ground! I'll
send specs when I get them. Still no word on an Athlon64 based Gateway
desktop though. As it stands now, you have two choices, an overpriced
stripped down P4 or an EXTREMELY overpriced model with bells and whistles.
Both are BTX and personally I think the design leaves allot to be desired.
Massive heatsink w/ no fan. It uses a "duct" from the front case fan to
channel air past the heatsink. I burned my finger on the heatsink. This is
cooling "evolution??? I'll try to sneak a temp program onto it to get some
readings......

So yeah, where is that Athlon 64 model Gateway? Can you be this foolish? Did you not learn your less in 2000? Also of note an Athlon 64 HP desktop has snuck into Sam's. This is the first Athlon 64 computer I've seen there.
